Will, Kathy and the carbon fiber boat
Listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight row of Paul Revere.
** DAD, it is ride of Paul Revere**
That's OK Sam, but first he rowed. He had to get past the British to get to his horse. And the boat he rowed was not super special, but it was quiet. That pattern of boat is called a RAID boat.
** DAD, is it like the one the garage? **
Yes, but the one in the garage is made of carbon fiber, the one Paul Revere rowed was wood, there is a big difference. But since Paul Revere rowed across, past the British, to mount his horse, things have never been the same and that pattern of boat has passed down through the generations.
** How did we get one DAD? **
Your grandfather designed two of them based on the pattern. One with a heavier layup designed to spend time in Hawaiian waters and one, light and fast for the Pacific Northwest.
But there was a problem.
The fast raid boat was on the East coast. Grandpa was moving to the West Coast. There were moving companies that would move the furniture. There were moving companies that would move a boat. BUT there were no moving companies that would move both AND to complicate things even more, Grandpa had a race car, a Mustang GT 5.0 that also needed to move.
Grandma, do you remember her, Kathy, that lovely lady, and a man named Will, pondered what to do, they had many ideas.
Finally they came up with an idea. Will was a professional driver. IF we altered the race car to two the boat, these precious items could be driven to the West coast . . and the furniture; MEH.
And so it was. Will braved the elements arriving on Christmas Eve, slowed down by a huge chunk of ICE that nearly put the hex on the trip, though it did manage to take out the back window. He braved mountain passes in a race car with a trailer, but he made it through.
** AND the race car and the raid boat? **
They are in the best of hands.
